39 bpm

CREATED BY MANUFACTURING ENTERTAINMENT (JULIE GENDRON + EMMA HENDRIX)

What do you do when you don't know what to do?

39 BPM is the approximate rate of rotation of an old apartment clothes dryer. Visitors to the gallery were encouraged to use the rocking chair in order to focus on the sonic subtleties and phasing in the gallery. 39 BPM was part of a group show MORE OFTEN THAN ALWAYS / LESS OFTEN THAN NEVER at the Richmond Art Gallery in Richmond BC, curated by Noxious Sector (Ted Hiebert and Doug Jarvis).

Other Artists in the show: hannah_g, J, Tetsushi Higashino Gordon Lebredt, Chikako Maria Mori & Boris Nieslony, François Mathieu, Arjuna Neuman, Anne-Marie Proulx
